Our Focus
The Junior League of Roanoke Valley's focus is addressing poverty by connecting the community to existing resources and removing barriers to healthcare and food.
Poverty is a real problem in the Roanoke Valley impacting individuals, families, children, and senior citizens. There are pockets of food deserts where people cannot get access to fresh, healthy food. Transportation to doctors appointments can also be an issue. Many free or subsidized healthcare services have long waiting lists and are unable to see patients when they need care.
Our goal is to collaborate and build partnerships within the Roanoke Valley connecting people to the resources they need.
