Junior League of Roanoke Valley to have Kids in the Kitchen event Friday
to raise awareness of childhood obesity and to promote healthy nutrition
May 1, 2009 - Roanoke, VA, – The Junior League of Roanoke Valley (JLRV) will host its fourth annual Kids in the Kitchen, an event to educate children, raise awareness, and provide solutions for the growing health problems associated with childhood obesity. The event will be held Friday, May 1st from 4pm to 7pm at the Boys and Girls Club in Vinton. Children who participate in the Boys and Girls Club program are invited. The event will feature a meal prep session where children will learn about nutrition, make healthy food choices, and have an opportunity to prepare a healthy meal to share with their families.
